01Using TransLocale
These terms are an agreement between you and the TransLocale operator identified below. They cover the website, dashboard, hosted API, CLI and MCP access, translation processing, and delivery services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to accept them on its behalf.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. Keep your account information accurate and your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account, team memberships, and connected tools. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
02Your content and permissions
You retain your rights in the source text, files, context, and other content you provide. As between you and TransLocale, you may use and export your translation results; we claim no ownership in them. AI output may not be unique or eligible for intellectual-property protection.
You grant us permission to host, copy, process, translate, and transmit your content only as needed to provide and secure the service, support you, and comply with law. This includes using service providers described in our Privacy Policy. You must have the rights and any required consent to submit and process the content.
Do not upload credentials, payment-card details, or sensitive personal information that the service does not need. Workspace owners are responsible for inviting the right people and granting suitable permissions.
03Review translations and releases
AI translations and automated checks can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular context. Review results before use, especially for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or regulated content. The service does not provide certified translation or professional advice.
You decide which translations to approve, export, or publish. A release published through the dashboard, API, CLI, or MCP may change content delivered to your users. You are responsible for checking releases, keeping appropriate backups, and complying with app-store rules and other requirements that apply to your app.
04Plans, renewal, and cancellation
The pricing page and checkout show the price, currency, billing interval, and allowance for your chosen plan. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You authorize Stripe to collect recurring charges and applicable taxes using your selected payment method.
You can cancel through billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless checkout, the billing portal, or applicable law provides otherwise. You then return to the Free plan. Cancellation does not automatically delete your account or workspace data.
Free allowance resets monthly in UTC. Paid allowance resets monthly, including on annual subscriptions. Unused allowance does not roll over. Translation stops when your available allowance is exhausted; we do not automatically charge overage fees. Checks and ordinary builds do not start paid translation jobs.
Except where required by law or expressly agreed by us, fees are non-refundable and partial periods or unused allowance are not credited. Contact us about duplicate charges or billing errors. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory cancellation, refund, or other consumer rights.
We will give advance notice of changes to recurring prices. Changes apply to a future renewal so you can cancel before they take effect. Failed payments may limit paid features until resolved.
05Acceptable use
Use TransLocale lawfully and respect other people's rights. You must not:
- Submit unlawful content, violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, or use the service for fraud or abuse.
- Attempt to access another customer's data, bypass authentication, evade quotas or payment limits, or interfere with the service.
- Distribute malware, expose private authoring credentials in public apps, or use automation to overload the service.
- Resell access to the hosted service without our written agreement. This does not prevent use of translation results in your own products.
06Integrations and software
Third-party authentication, payment services, AI assistants, and development tools are subject to their own terms. You choose which integrations to connect and what access to grant. TransLocale cannot control what an external tool does with data you allow it to receive.
The hosted TransLocale service and its branding are proprietary. Public client packages are governed by the license included with each package; those licenses continue to apply independently of these service terms.
07Availability and service changes
We work to keep the service available, but do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free results, or a particular uptime unless a separate written agreement says so. Features may change, and maintenance or provider failures may cause interruptions. Preview features may be less stable.
We may suspend access when reasonably needed to address a security threat, unlawful activity, a material breach of these terms, or unpaid fees. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve it. Urgent action may be taken without advance notice.
If we discontinue the service or terminate a paid account for reasons other than your breach, we will give reasonable notice, an opportunity to export data where lawful and practical, and refund prepaid fees for the unused period. You can stop using the service at any time; cancel subscriptions separately to stop renewals.
08Responsibility and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You remain responsible for reviewing translations and maintaining copies of important content.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost business opportunities arising from this agreement. Our total liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and CA$100.
These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that mandatory consumer or privacy law gives you.
09Changes and questions
We will post revised terms with an updated date and give appropriate advance notice of material changes. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not agree, stop using the service and cancel any subscription before the changes take effect. Accrued payment obligations and provisions intended to survive termination continue to apply.
Contact us first about a dispute so we can try to resolve it. These terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to use courts or statutory complaint processes. The laws of Alberta and applicable federal laws of Canada govern this agreement, subject to any mandatory laws that protect you where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms remain effective.
